An absolute gem

Hands down, this is the best house we have rented. You can feel how much love has gone into it. The facilities are brilliant, the décor and architecture is inspirational. We loved the design and the most beautiful deck and boma. It is perfection and 7 star!. The rooms are so comfortable with everything one needs. The staff are so friendly and efficient.
Thank you for sharing your home - we will be back!

Words fall short of what one experiences

Always there is great expectation by what is painted as a utopia on websites which then fall short when one experiences reality. This was one of those rare exceptions where one is left lost for words to describe the experience. Nothing for want in service, comfort and quality. Breathtaking views and comfort fit for VVIP's.The week felt like a month and we departed determined to return.Best lodge we have ever rented and we will be backThe Pieterse party of 6 -December 2016

Occasionally in one's earthly wanderings one chances upon an experience that reshuffles perspective and tugs a heart chord. Lodge 23 is the gem that was a singular stand-out vignette. We will treasure our nights under these skies, lovingly ensconced in the homely aesthetic and heart-felt generosity that this family home exudes. We are so grateful that our children could sense the spectacular and embed it in their memory.Thank You!

Thank you for creating this beautiful home. We loved everything - the decor and design, the incredible setting, the hippo's chilling in the water. It's perfect and we look forward to coming back.

We had the pleasure of staying and bringing in the 2016 New Year at Lodge 23. After 28 hours of traveling to land at Elephant Point was a dream! The house and view is amazing. We asked for nothing and had everything! We were traveling with good friends that we had not seen in a very long time and it made our reunion memorable and we cannot wait to do it again. The sounds of wildlife were a welcome soundtrack to an amazing adventure. The sunrises and full night skies created the perfect beginning and ending to safari filled days. You have created the perfect place to get away and discover Africa, thank you for sharing your home and creating memories that we will cherish for a lifetime!

Our stay at Lodge 23 was absolutely amazing, we didn't want to leave. The rooms, kitchen, pool area, everything was just perfect.

I can't thank you enough for all your help, it will definitely be a birthday I'll never forget. Thanks again, Martinette.

We stayed at Lodge 23 for four nights in September 2015. Th accommodation is absolutely first class, the layout wonderful, its location is quite amazing and the staff very helpful. Within minutes of arriving we were watching elephants, giraffes, hippos and a water buck through our binoculars whetting our appetite for what we would see in Kruger over the next couple of days. I doubt you could find a better base from which to explore Kruger.

Just AWESOME!!! Thank you we had a such a great time. Everything you need plus more. The complimentary condiments and spices are such a good idea - this is stuff a traveller almost always forgets to bring!!! Very tastefully decorated and comfortable - feels like home!! We spent hours at night on the deck watching the moon and African Skies... the housekeeper was very friendly and helpful. We will be back.

Nothing short of absolutely amazing!

We spent 3 nights at Lodge 23 - from 29 June to 2 July - and everything exceeded our wildest expectations. The place is gorgeous, the decor, rooms - pure comfort! There are loads of special touches, many relaxed communal areas, every detail is in place.

The staff were fabulous...friendly and efficient. Much of the credit goes to Marlene and Annabel. They are pleasant people who are hands on in the operation. The Lodge is immaculately clean!

Wish we stayed longer but we'll definitely be back.

All we can say about Lodge 23 is... WOW! Such attention to detail in every room, the lodge is absolutely fabulous, so well equipped and every comfort catered for. Arriving to a real life zebra crossing and seeing hippos wallowing in the water opposite was such a treat!

Marlene, the manager who met us on arrival went that extra mile for us - bringing us beers and wine on our first night as we couldn't buy alcohol on the way to the lodge (it was Sunday!). The staff who came daily were so friendly and looked after us so well.

Lodge 23 will hold special memories for our family and we would highly recommend this stunning luxury spot in the bush. Many braii's and glasses of wine were had watching the sunset in the beautiful African setting.

Many thanks for making our holiday so wonderful!

The house is in one word 'Wonderful' From the 23rd Feb until 26th Feb

We had an awesome stay and have no bad comments on this house.
Everything that you need is available.

Waking up every morning with the view of the River and the Pet elephants we had when we were staying made it complete

Thanks for the stay

It is a perfect work and an idea home. Balance functional and decorative very well. My family had a memorable two days stay in the lodge. We plan to be back in winter time.

Being regular bush visitors we were blown away by the setting of Lodge 23. The combination of luxury living and the tranquility of being in the bush was something special. The separate uniquely decorated rooms gave all guests their own space, but when it came to entertaining we were spoilt for choice. The open plan kitchen, lounge patio and pool area create an amazing open plan space during the day. The Sunset deck saw many G&T’s and exquisite sunsets. The upstairs bar/lounge was perfect for nights when there was a nip in the air. Then for and my absolute favorite, the Boma. Sitting around a fire in the bush, a star filled sky above, good friends and an endless supply of wine, all the perfect ingredients to make the stresses of modern day life just melt away. All in all a magic and memorable weekend at Lodge 23.

We booked for 3 nights, and extended to 4. That alone says a lot! Never have I found a self catering unit as well set up as Lodge 23. As a chef myself I was so impressed by the quality of cookware and appliances. The staples provided for our use was of the best brands, and suitable for even the most health conscious. No skimping anywhere! Every creature comfort has been anticipated and provided for. As for the furnishings and finishes - well done. Comfortable, luxurious and very pleasing on the eye. The staff are superb. From stocking the fridges, to the beautiful petal arrangements in our unit (it was our 30th wedding anniversary). Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. All I can say is well done! Not only will we be back soon, but we will definitely recommend it as our favourite get-away in South Africa.

Lodge 23 has to be in one of the most breathtaking locations in the world. Situated on the river this amazing home has the Kruger at it's feet. Often you can see hippos, elephants and others in the river right in front of the house which was such a treat. The most spectacular part of my stay had to be Lodge 23 itself. The design, attention to detail and beautiful Moroccan and African decor was inspiring. The rooms were all decorated with different themes and were so comfortable. I absolutely loved the baths and outdoor showers. The living areas were also spectacular with so much space to enjoy the beauty around you. Quite simply - I can't wait to go back!

Awesome, awesome , awesome!!!
Such attention to detail. We will be back. Well done Sue, you sure know how. Thank you for your efficiency Amber. Thank you so much Marlene for managing this beautiful, beautiful property. We all loved it so much. I have already recommended Elephant Point - Lodge 23 to so many friends and family. The decor was done with perfection, well done Sue!!!

Warmest regards.

We would like the thank you for the opportunity to stay at Lodge 23. It’s got everything you could hope for if luxury and bush is what you need to relax. From the location near the Kruger and central to lots of other attractions to having the privacy of your own lodge overlooking the Sabie River.

We are use to staying in luxury bush lodges, not self catering ones though. The privacy of self-catering and well thought thru luxuries from the rooms to kitchen, pool and view deck all work well with the building layout giving you relaxing, private, luxury holiday. We had more driving and activities planned but enjoyed the Lodge to the point where we only drove to Kruger once. Elephant, Hippo, Kudu, Zebra and a Fish Eagle was spotted from the deck or sometimes even from the pool.

Complements to the owner for layout, interior design and well equipped lodge overall. We will definitely be coming back.
